God need . . . with a starship?!" for me. For whatever reason, this line hit both my sister and I as the most hilariously bad line ever uttered in a science fiction movie.

Nice post- and I agree. There's this idea that Christianity is all about wearing happy faces and being joyful all the time. Just listen to the majority of Christian music- we don't sing about our pain.

Kind of crazy for a religion following a man described as a "man of sorrows" or that contains the works of David who certainly did not hold back his pain when writing.

So many dystopian novels are about this- immidiately to mind comes "Fahrenheit 451" and "Brave New World". We don't get happier by removing all of our pain- we just end up denying who we are.

And God loves us AS we are- we do not need to put up a front.Jeff Shttp://www.steadyonband.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-972509091797446830.post-59460638901529536912013-04-15T08:33:17.362-04:002013-04-15T08:33:17.362-04:00Thank you for sharing that! It's been a while ...Thank you for sharing that! It's been a while since I've seen Star Trek V, I do much prefer IV and VI. But that was a really neat takeaway from a flop of a movie. For me, it's been learning to accept that while I may be gifted intellectually and in other ways, I am also socially 'handicapped' and that is how God made me. I am so glad that he can use the weak, the inept, the clumsy, and the unglamorous to bring Him glory. =)Joellehttp://shouts-of-joy.livejournal.com/profilenoreply@blogger.com
